We have many years of experience supporting, optimizing, securing and supporting mission-critical environments for many businesses.  NextSys Networking virtualization consultants can objectively provide the right virtualization solution to meet your Back Office and IT requirements.  As a leader in our field for server virtualization you can rely on us for:

  • Multi-vendor support for proper hardware and software selection
  • Fully testing virtual hosting software versions before implementation
  • In-house or data center implementation
  • Disaster Recovery Solutions using virtualization backup and replication technology
  • Following and implementing best practices as set by each developer and manufacturer

Why Virtualization?

Consolidation

Server virtualization conserves space through consolidation of hardware. It is common practice today to dedicate each server to a single or similar applications. If several applications only use a small amount of processing power, the network administrator can consolidate several machines into one, two, or maybe a few servers instead of many.

Hardware Independence

Server hardware will eventually fail or become obsolete.  Installing legacy applications to a new or replacement server can be a difficult task with traditional physical Operating Systems installations. Virtualizing existing physical servers gives companies access to older legacy systems for archiving purposes. Virtualization also allows companies time to transition to new processes and parallel test with existing application processes without having to purchase additional hardware.

Disaster Recovery

Virtualization can help speed up recovery time, because it is easier to restore and start up a virtual machine on a host virtual server than rebuild a physical server from scratch. If virtual machine replication is used to a secondary spare server of similar or dissimilar hardware the recovery time can be 10 fold as the replicas can be restarted with a few clicks of a mouse.  Replication and backup schedules can be setup to ensure that if failure occurs at the end of the day not a whole day’s worth of data is lost.  Other technologies such as a Storage Area Networks (SANs) with de-duplication can be used if zero data loss is required.  SANs also allow for live migration from virtual host server to server so that that host server can be taken offline for maintenance and upgrades with zero network downtime.

Which Virtual Platform is the Best?

At this moment, VMware is the leader of server virtualization but Microsoft’s Hyper-V solution is closing the gap.  With the release of Windows Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V Microsoft has made the decision that much harder.  We have extensive experience in deploying vSphere and Hyper-V and we can determine what platform is best for your company.  We welcome the opportunity to learn more about your unique environment to provide you with an unbiased opinion on which platform is right for you and your organization.
